From a case study on Deliveroo’s new visual identity to advice on working with AI, our next Making It event and the return of our One-Day Summit, IHALC has a packed agenda for the rest of 2023
Working with AI? For our next In-House Agency Leaders Club Breakfast Briefing, in partnership with Adobe, we'll be joined by Jamie Smith, Partner and Co-Head of the Interactive Group at media and technology law firm Sheridans.
He’ll be briefing us on:
*AI as a creative enabler and not a blocker
*Working with AI tools for real-time content versus creating assets
*Contracts and liability: how to ensure that you have the right agreements and processes in place with external partners when it comes to working with AI
*Insurers: what your IHA needs to do in order to comply
*Copyright: how to protect your IHA from claims arising from the use of AI tools
Come along with your questions and challenges for this practical session on setting your IHA up for success with AI.
On 5 September, online, we’ll be joined by Emily Somers, Global Director of Brand and Creative, and Paul Hewitt, Global Head of Creative, in conversation with IHALC's Patrick Burgoyne, as we explore how Deliveroo's in-house team created and implemented a new global visual identity and brand campaign.
IHALC is going international! We’ll be running our first event in Amsterdam on 19 September. In partnership with Getty Images, we’ll be looking at how to achieve the authentic representation of diverse audiences in marketing campaigns, drawing on Getty’s previous work creating toolkits for brands such as Citi and hearing from other in-house leaders about how they are approaching this important topic.
September 27 sees the next event in our Making It series on production. For this one, we are concentrating on understanding how to make great work, and what gets in the way. We’ll be looking at:
Ambition versus budget: where dreams meet reality
Partners: Understanding the evolving production landscape.
Bidding and contracts: Best practice, how to build great relationships with production partners. What do IHAs get wrong? What do IHAs need from production partners?
Collaboration: Do IHAs understand their role in the production process? Managing stakeholders, feedback and approvals.
Sustainability: Strategies for reducing your productions’ carbon footprint
Format:
Group discussion led by Nicky Russell of WDC/IHALC and Sophie-Chapman Andrews of Makers. Followed by group wash-up session: attendees are invited to present a previous project, discussing successes, challenges and key lessons learned.
Q&A with Mali Okoi-Obuli, Global Senior Manager / Exec Producer, Creative Shoot & Production, adidas
Q&A with Jo Fenn of AdGreen and David Akeredolu, Global Lead – Creative Production, Diageo, on how to measure and reduce your advertising production emissions
Selected attendees will also present their production strategy, informed by the previous session.
And finally, we have our next One-Day summit on October 31. Our Summit provides senior in-house agency leaders the chance to explore their most important challenges in the company of their peers and expert contributors.
Our theme this time is ‘From efficiency to effectiveness’ as we discuss the vital steps that IHAs must take as they evolve.
Full agenda details to come, but we will be covering the key topics revealed by respondents to our IHA Benchmarking Survey, including:
Building a business case for your IHA: how do you secure investment from the business to allow your IHA to achieve its potential?
Talent: attracting and retaining talent, building diverse teams
Collaboration: working with external agency partners
AI: how will it effect your IHA? With case studies from those already experimenting with the tech
Process: smoothing out briefing and feedback challenges, building a robust content supply chain
Join us from 8.30am to 5pm on 31 October for a day of support, knowledge-exchange and valuable, applicable insights to help you build your In-House Agency.
Please note: all IHALC in-person events are open to in-house agency leaders only
