Following Ainhoa Robles' recent article for The Drum about life as an in-house creative, Jo Rolfe explains why planners also have great opportunities in-house
Excellent piece, Jo. Couldn’t agree more - in-house is shaping up to be an exciting place to be. Transitioning from agency to client side has proven to be equal parts testing and fascinating, but ultimately highly rewarding both on a professional and personal level, so far.
Although this option may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I would argue it is definitely one worth demystifying and keeping top of mind, as opportunities in-house keep growing and internal teams mature and sharpen their processes and ways of working, enabling creativity to thrive and industry professionals to make the impact we craved for so long.
Thank you Ainhoa, I really enjoyed your article. As you say, there will be people who won't find in-house appealing and fair enough. However, in saying this, it's good to know how and why things are changing and the new opportunities as a result. And yes, just like anything - there are pros and cons, good weeks and bad weeks!
